There are many opportunities for volunteers to share their time and talents with residents, and people of any age can become volunteers. We’ll work with your schedule – you tell us what you’d like to do, and we’ll do our best to match your skills and preferences with the volunteer opportunities we have available. Eventide has opportunities for volunteers who can devote a few hours each week, a few hours each month or are available on an “as needed” basis.
Share coffee and conversation. Take a walk outside. Assist residents in using the computer. Each volunteer helps enhance the lives of residents.

Volunteer in Nebraska
At Eventide, there’s a job for every person, talent and schedule. While needs vary by community, some of the important ways to serve include:
- Deliver for Eventide Meals on Wheels
- Companion visits with residents
- Assist with resident engagement activities
- Pet therapy
- Play cards and board games
- Host a coffee, book or other special interest club
- Share musical talents
- Bible study leader
- Lead morning exercises
Become a Hospice Volunteer
Eventide Hospice volunteers provide support to clients in the last stages of life and to their families. Hospice volunteers visit clients in Eventide living communities, other care facilities or clients’ homes.
After your hospice volunteer application is approved, Eventide will provide specialized training to prepare you for this unique and rewarding opportunity.
Volunteers may offer:
- Respite care
- Bereavement support
- Companionship
- Pet visits/window pet visits (e.g. dogs, calves, donkey, bunny)
- Window painting
- Light housekeeping
- Office/clerical support
