Veteran Hospice Services

Eventide Hospice provides a range of veteran services designed to honor the brave men and women throughout Nebraska who have served our country.

Pinning Ceremonies

Eventide collaborates with local community organizations to host pinning ceremonies throughout Nebraska to honor those who have served our country. Our ceremony is tailored to meet the needs of the veteran, including requests for private ceremonies. We recognize veterans by providing them with a pin and a certificate that reflects their branch of service. Prayers, uplifting songs and poems are shared while surrounded by the love and comfort of family and friends.

Vet-to-Vet Volunteer Program

If you or your loved one would like to be visited by another veteran, our hospice Volunteer coordinators can arrange this for you.

These Volunteers are specifically trained to work with those in hospice care.

Daydream Project

Eventide Hospice aims to make dreams come true for veterans, and in doing so, improving the quality of their lives in ways medicine alone cannot.

The Daydream Project gives you and your loved one the opportunity  to have an experience that otherwise may not be possible. This may include having a friend brought to the bedside for a few final moments of comfort, or visiting an old neighborhood full of cherished memories.

Resources for Caregivers

Life is a journey—a wonderful and sometimes unsure experience. Entering the phase near the end of life is a time when everything we encounter is new. Facing death is never easy, but you are not alone. Eventide's hospice team is here to assist you and your loved one with compassion, comfort and care.

In this booklet, you will find information on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual changes commonly faced as death approaches. These changes are a normal, natural way in which the body prepares for death. Usually, these changes are not medical emergencies and are better cared for in a comforting, supportive manner. It is our hope that you will find these tools helpful in caring for your loved one.
