COVID-19 Update 11.25.20

Dear Families and Friends,

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is upon us. In some ways, it seems the year has quickly passed us by as each day has looked so different. In other ways, it feels like a great deal of time has gone by since we started this pandemic journey. While this year has been a challenge so far, there is much for which to be grateful.

As are many, I am grateful for the progress in the development of COVID-19 vaccines and for all of the resources and effort that has gone into making them possible. We are hopeful that our residents and staff will be a top priority when a vaccine is available.

Each day, I am grateful to our employees for their dedication to our mission. I’ve written about my appreciation of our team several times here, but I don’t know that I can say it too often. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without each of them. Now, more than ever, it is important to thank our frontline health care workers. If you see one, tell them thank you. From a distance, while wearing a mask, of course.

Last, but not least, I am grateful to our residents, families, friends and communities for supporting us and trusting us to care for the most vulnerable population. I thank you for your commitment to helping us through the COVID-19 surge that is currently devastating the Midwest. This is the time when it is most important for us all to do our part. While it is hard not being with our families and friends this Thanksgiving, we must each make an effort to control the spread of the virus. Please celebrate at home with only the people you live with. Please where a mask when you are in public. Please continue to be diligent when it comes to hand hygiene.

We all need to work together to stop the spread.

Thank you,

Jon Riewer, President and CEO
