COVID-19 Update 5-5-20

Dear Families and Friends,

We recently received the results of our widespread testing at our Eventide Jamestown campus, which included all staff and residents at our skilled nursing building and senior living apartments. I am happy to report that all results were negative. We will continue our diligent infection prevention measures to do our best to keep the virus out.

While I am grateful that we have been able to do testing in our North Dakota facilities, I continue to be frustrated at the shortage of testing in Minnesota. As we continue to see small increases in our number of cases at Eventide on Eighth, we are discouraged with the lack of widespread testing for all congregate settings in Minnesota. Without the ability to test all of our staff and residents, we continue to be unable to detect asymptomatic carriers. Successfully cohorting infected residents and furloughing infected staff will be difficult without necessary testing, as many of the positive cases we have found at our other locations have been asymptomatic. Currently, only those showing symptoms are tested in Minnesota.

We continue to advocate on behalf of our residents and staff to make widespread testing a priority in Minnesota. Thank you to all who have contacted state and local representatives to support this effort.

Keeping our residents and staff safe and healthy is our priority. Our teams at all of our locations continue to practice enhanced infection control measures, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow all recommended guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the state Departments of Health.

The following is an update of active and inactive cases* at our locations:
