Leann Wright, Past President of Eventide Senior Living Communities’ Board of Directors in Moorhead, MN was recently named Board Trustee of the Year by LeadingAge Minnesota.
The award honors a volunteer board member in an older adult services organization whose leadership, service, and actions have enriched the lives of older persons and enhanced their community. Wright has served on the board for 13 years and advocates for the underprivileged. She has served as board president and currently acts as past president.
“Leann Wright is an inspirational leader for the Eventide organization and has championed inclusion initiatives to support their growing diverse workforce,” said Kari Thurlow, President & CEO, LeadingAge Minnesota. “We are also grateful for her contribution to our association’s Governance Advisory Group. She has helped shape education and resources offered to nonprofit boards through LeadingAge Minnesota over the past six years.”
Wright has helped to guide Eventide through one of the most challenging periods for providers of long-term care. From expansion into new service lines, to succession planning, to board development, she has worked with the CEO and other board members to set Eventide on a course to serve Fargo/Moorhead and north central Minnesota for decades to come.
“Leann acts at the true conscience of our board,” said Jon Riewer, CEO, Eventide Senior Living Communities. “Deeply committed to her trustee role, she leads with compassion—for our residents, our staff, and the communities we serve. She has challenged us to think bigger and to focus on the impact that our organization has as an employer of many New Americans in our evolving workforce.”
At first a reluctant board member, Leann quickly realized the impact the organization could make in the lives of residents, staff, and the communities it serves. She freely gives her time and talent to help elevate older adult services across the state.
Wright accepted the award at the LeadingAge Minnesota Institute, the state’s largest and most comprehensive aging services conference.
