Dear Families and Friends,
Gov. Burgum recently proclaimed June 23, 2020, as Silver Linings Day. It is a day to recognize long term care staff for all of the dedication and passion they have demonstrated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team members, as well as all those working in long term care, are the unsung heroes of this pandemic. I see advertisements and programming dedicated to honoring doctors and nurses on the frontlines in hospitals (and they deserve it too!), but it is not often I see the same level of recognition for those caring for our most vulnerable population.
On June 23, we will be celebrating at our campuses and I hope you join in showing appreciation on this day. Something as simple as a Facebook shout out to long term care staff can boost the morale of many. However small or big your appreciation, our team will appreciate it!
I am incredibly proud of our teams at all of our locations. COVID-19 may be the greatest battle of their careers, and our staff has stepped up to the challenge. I think the proclamation states it well,
“WHERE AS, long-term care staff have responded to the challenges and pressures of the COVID-19
pandemic by providing tireless, compassionate care; and
WHERE AS, long-term care staff are exceeding demands in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; their passion and dedication has become a “silver lining” during challenging times.”
Thank you #EventideHeroes, and all healthcare workers, for your continued dedication.

*The cases reported on the North Dakota Health site are considered active if a resident or staff member have tested positive, but are no longer counted as an active case after 10 days. Eventide follows the CDC test-based strategy which classifies residents as recovered after two consecutive negative tests.
